Vinnie

When I got Vinnie, he seemed healthy.

He was eating well, running and exercising- a happy boy and he was a good weight. As time went on, I noticed he began to excessively drink water and would often vomit up his food. I wasn't alarmed at all at first, just thought he was a typical pup overeating.

After about 8 weeks (Vinnie would have been 5/6 months) I began to notice that he was vomiting more frequently, sometimes this was fluids and not food.

He was still drinking excessively and his growth seemed to have stunted.

I took him back to my vets on several occasions, they still couldn't find anything wrong with him as he appeared healthy.

The week before Christmas, he began to start having what I thought were mild seizures. His muscles were contracting continuously and his whole skull would move. It was incredibly upsetting and hard to watch. The vets rushed through his appointment to the small animal hospital and we took him there on the 30th.

It was here we got the answers we were looking for, Vinnie had Chronic Renal Failure due to bilaterally small and irregularly shaped Kidneys. There was no hope of a healthy life for him and there was no treatment or cure. The options we were presented with was to either let him suffer a natural death, or allow him to pass away peacefully.

That same day, we put him to sleep as his condition deteriorated.

Vinnie's ears when we got him were full of mites and his adult teeth were also late coming through, his puppy teeth didn't begin to fall out until he was 6 months old and he was under weight at just 19.6kg at 8 months old.

I later connected with another 3 owners who have come forward to say that their pups have all had meningitis by the time they reached 4-6 months old.

Another 3 owners have come forward as their dogs seem to be unwell, lethargic and displaying symptoms to suggest they're not well.

The breeder has advertised further puppies for sale l have reported this to Pets4homes.
