So I’ll explain from the start - we’ve been speaking about getting a family dog for years now but always decided against because of the kids ages etc. recently we decided we’d take the plunge and get one now the kids are old enough to respect the animal. We did research about breeds and what would be the best family dog.. we was looking for a smaller dog and decided on jackawawa.

I really should have put this much research into the actual purchase but I honestly wasn’t aware of the horrors of breeding. I then found what to be described as an 8 week jackawawa pup online and texted to enquire. He said they where still available and I asked the address and he said when your on your way ring me and I’ll tell you.. first red flag!

I couldn’t get there until the following day so he offered delivery and I declined. The day came and I messaged on the morning and he said everything is fine ring when your going to set off. I had a million things to do that morning so I regrettably took delivery.

First thing I noticed is that this pup was quiet, very quiet! I thought maybe she’s scared? Then that she didn’t wee for the first 6hrs and took little to no food and water, I got in touch with my friend who is a dog trainer an said it’s not normal but would be nerves.

It all went down hill from there. She was sick every night very lethargic. I took her to vets second day I had her he said maybe she’s got a little virus but got worse the next day took her back and they kept her in. They confirmed she properly wasn’t 8 weeks and very unwell told us to prepare for the worse and the 3rd night she was in the dog hospital she passed away 😞

Again regrettably researched about puppy farming and all the horrors of backyard breeding. I watched the documentary on BBC3 and realised they all had same symptoms as this poor girl. I’d love to find out where all the other puppies went and if they survived, if some were ill? Were any fit and well?

He was selling 3/4 different breeds at once. He was advertising on Gumtree, he sounded to be just English. The name was Joseph on the add. Unfortunately I didn’t even think at the time of purchase about Vet records, it’s all stuff I wish I’d of gotten. Only thing I got was her “chip card” which I should mention he told me he named her penny then passed a card over that said sugar.

She was the loveliest little dog. My kids loved her too. I didn’t realise how bad breeding was, it’s disgusting and I wish more could be done. ❤️
