Daisy

Hi, hope you don’t mind me messaging you. First of all I’m so sorry about little Reggie, what you have had to go through is horrendous and you have all of my sympathy.

I felt compelled to tell you about my puppy as there are some similarities.

My boyfriend bought me a puppy from Walton, only 15 or so minutes from St Helens I believe, just before Christmas. Our puppy is perfectly healthy thank goodness but the microchip is registered in Ireland and we had no idea until we tried to transfer the ownership (which we are having tons of issues with) the couple that we purchased Daisy from seemed lovely and everything seemed so above board. I used to work in a veterinary setting so had a lot of knowledge of what to look for in case you suspect you are viewing a puppy from a puppy farm and I didn’t get any of those red flags, except one. They told us the mother had an eye injury so they had taken her to a friend house where it could heal properly as it was caused by the litter clawing at her. With my background working with animals I knew this was sometimes the case and felt like a legitimate story! I’d seen photos and videos of mum so felt at ease. Looking back I feel so stupid, my number one rule is to view mother and if possible father with the puppies. I clearly have a puppy farm dog that’s been imported from Ireland. It’s really worrying that “breeders” can pull this off and before this I felt like I was a very knowledgeable dog owner. I’m annoyed with myself for getting sucked in but what I’m furious at the most is the fact thousands of pounds of our money has gone towards funding this despicable trade.

Our puppy has been checked over twice by our vet and she’s thriving but that’s complete pot luck. She was one of five in her litter and although they told us she was just 9 weeks at the time she’s big for her age and I’m certain she’s a bit older.

Daisy is a Boxer so another popular large breed selling for around the same price as Labradors. It was a woman and a man, they both spoke with Liverpool accents and I didn’t notice any Irish reg plates but it was a terrace house with no parking, so possibly could have parked elsewhere? The house was clean but messy and it definitely had a smell of cannabis coming from one of the rooms that they had tried to disguise with air freshener 🤢 the puppies were in the kitchen on puppy pads and blankets. In hindsight there was quite a variation in sizes some of them were noticeably a bit smaller but then this can be normal I litters. They have now blocked our number or stopped using the phone they were using.

The number they were using is above and their address was 37 Luxmore road. Just incase you have anyone contact you with similar.

The smell of cannabis was overpowering in parts of the house, there was furniture in the hall way and kitchen but these were the only two rooms we went in to. The house was not in the best condition to be honest but as someone who works in community this isn’t unusual to me anymore! but yes very similar story, I have now just found another story on fb. I will post here.

Same photo in the ad as our Daisy’s ad. I’m livid and devastated that I have contributed to funding these people!

It’s definitely easy for them to be smuggled in to Liverpool. If you need any help with anything I would be more than happy to get involved. I feel like I can’t let this lie!
