Pumpkin

Pumpkin Puppy came into my care 3 weeks ago, she was 8 weeks old. Unfortunately she was unable to use her legs. My family & me fell instantly in love with her and decided to adopt her ❤.

I created her a Facebook page and a previous Gofundme page. The public response was amazing. Pumpkin has many followers who love her and have joined us on our journey so far.

She hit all of the local press, including a TV appearance. She received a set of wheels from Winstons Wheel charity... beep beep

Pumpkin raised enough money to have an MRI scan with a top veterinary specialist. Things were looking really promising, she was getting stronger. Showing signs that her injuries were improving.

Unfortunately 27.10.21 we saw the devastating images of her injuries. We just were not prepared. Her spinal cord has been broken and left without veterinary treatment. It has now fused back together in a mangled mess. Both her rear legs show old breaks. Again left to fix themselves, and now they are actually deformed that badly that nothing can be done. All injuries have been caused by extreme trauma. She was not born like this!

We are told that she is definitely paralysed from the waist down. Has no feelings or sensation, including making her incontinent. The specialist veterinary said it was an extremely complex case and the worse spinal injury he had seen!

We have now booked her in for an assessment at a local veterinary. She will also need intense hydrotherapy and physiotherapy for the rest of her life . She will be a Westie in wheels

But we love her and will give her everything she needs. Love, Cuddles and support. A happy normal dog life.

Her veterinary treatment will be ongoing and her care difficult. But she is worth everything. Pumpkin is an amazing, incredible and determined girl. This is her Normal, she doesn't know anything else.

She has a best friend called Smiggle and 4 feline friends too ❤

I have set this go fund me page up for anyone that would like to contribute towards her care or future treatments.

Pumpkin has a Facebook page if you would like to follow her journey ❤️
